الاستخدام
نستخدمه للحقائق العلمية والعادات والأشياء التي تكون صحيحة دائمًا.

الاستخدام
نتحدث عن شيء محتمل حدوثه في المستقبل.
الصيغة

بعد If لا نستخدم:

ثالثاً: Second Conditional
الاستخدام
نتحدث عن:
موقف خيالي.
شيء غير حقيقي في الحاضر.

ملاحظة مهمة
في الاختبارات نستخدم غالبًا:

وليس:

رابعاً: Third Conditional
الاستخدام
نتحدث عن شيء لم يحدث في الماضي ونندم عليه أو نتخيل نتيجة مختلفة.
الصيغة
If + Had + V3 → Would have + V3

If she had left earlier, she would have caught the bus.
الفكرة
حدث انتهى ولا يمكن تغييره.
خامساً: Mixed Conditional
الاستخدام
يجمع بين الماضي والحاضر.
لدينا نوعان مشهوران.
النوع الأول
نتيجة في الحاضر بسبب حدث في الماضي.
الصيغة
If + Had + V3 → Would + Base Verb

النوع الثاني
شرط في الحاضر ونتيجة في الماضي.

تعني:

نصائح مهمة لاختبار STEP
1. احفظ الصيغ الخمس.
2. لا تستخدم Will بعد If.
3. بعد Had يأتي دائمًا V3.
4. مع If I استخدم Were في الجمل الافتراضية.
5. Unless تعني If not.
6. Wish للحاضر = Past Simple.
7. Wish للماضي = Had + V3.
8. إذا رأيت كلمة regret أو wished أو if only، فكر مباشرة في Third Conditional أو Wish.
9. إذا كان الحدث انتهى، فغالبًا الإجابة تحتوي على:

نصيحة أخيرة لطلاب STEP
قبل اختيار الإجابة، اسأل نفسك ثلاثة أسئلة:
هل الجملة تتحدث عن حقيقة، احتمال، خيال، أم ندم؟
هل الحدث في الحاضر أم الماضي أم المستقبل؟
هل يوجد دليل مثل: had, would, will, unless, wish, if only؟
إذا أجبت عن هذه الأسئلة أولًا، ستتمكن من تحديد نوع الشرط واختيار الإجابة الصحيحة بسهولة، لأن معظم أسئلة Conditionals في اختبار STEP تعتمد على تمييز نوع الجملة أكثر من حفظ القاعدة فقط.
